The Yenching Academy annually enrolls approximately 120 new students from both the Chinese Mainland and abroad, to study, live, and learn together. International students comprise roughly 80% of the student body.

The Yenching Academy offers an opportunity of fully-funded scholarships for international students from every corner of the world. 80% of the Academy’s students are international, indicating the Yenching Academy’s huge commitment to addressing educational opportunities to international, competent students.
Scholars are allowed for flexiblity in the design of their study programs and can choose courses from any of six research areas, one of which they will choose for their theses. These research areas include:

- history and archeology
- philosophy and religion
- politics and international relations
- law and society
- literature and culture

The scholarship duration and benefits:
- The duration of the Yenching Academy scholarship in China is 2 years.
- This scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, health insurance, and round-trip airfare.
- Candidates will also have monthly stipends.
Requirements for the Yenching Academy Scholarship:
Required documents:
- Official academic degree/ diploma certificate
- Official academic transcripts
- CV/Resume
- Personal statement (less than 750 words )
- Statement of research interest (less than 1500 words)
- Two letters of recommendation (by (associate) professors)
- Language proficiency:
- Letter of the medium of instruction (MOI). or TOEFL/IELTS…
Required Qualifications:
- bachelor’s or to complete bachelor’s by Aug. 31, 2015
- outstanding academic record
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary studies in China
- A record of extracurricular achievement, community engagement, social responsibility, and leadership potential
