    • English proficiency certificate for some schools (IELT, TOEFL, or Duolingo)
    • Essay/s or study plan(if required)

    • Passport valid for atleast 1 year. +/- ID
    • Recent Photo passport size.
    • Additional points to note:

      • Study gap from high school graduation must not exceed 5 years.

      • You must have completed 12th Grade or be a graduating batch by the time of application.

      • If you are a graduating batch (12th Grade), you are required to get letter from the your school about your expected graduation date, and transcript so far.

      • For language proficiency, DUOLINGO &/or MOI (medium of instruction) Certificate  are accepted by some universities, but either IELTS or TOEFL is preferred.
    • NB: All academic documents must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

    • Additional Notes to Master’s Applicants:
      • You must have finished your bachelor’s degree or be in your final year while applying for your master’s study.

      • You need to clear any outstanding fees from previous studies and submit official student transcripts.

      • Graduating students should obtain a letter from their university confirming their expected graduation date and GPA.

      • For language proficiency, MOI (medium of instruction) Certificate  is accepted by some universities, but either IELTS or TOEFL is preferred if required.
    • NB: All academic documents must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

    D-Visa to Austria

    • Type D Visa (Student visa) is mandatory to enter Austria to study your Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
      • This visa grants you to stay in Austria only up to a maximum of 6 months.
      • Therefore, you have to apply for a Residence Permit timely to stay longer for your study.
      • You have to book appointment online and apply in person at the Embassy of Austria in Addis Ababa/vfs (visa facilitation services).
      • All required documents must be presented to on date of appointment.
      • Standardized processing time is around 45 days.
      • Issuance of visas with only one entry possible.
      • Aftyer arrival in Austria, you have to register within three working days of arrival in Austria with the registration office at your place of residence.
      • You can freely travel within all Schengen states with this visa.
      • Work: A work permit or a confirmation of notification required for taking up gainful employment.

    Have the following documents inorder to apply your student (type D visa) visa to Austria:

    • Passport:Valid until at least three months after leaving the Schengen territory; the passport must contain at least two empty pages and it must have been issued within the past ten years.
    • Passport-sized (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm) colour photograph
    • Notification/confirmation of admission of the Austrian higher education institution.
    • Signed letter from your educational institution in Ethiopia containing your personal data, name of institution, contact details, course enrollment and number of years at institution.
    • Final qualification achieved:
      • Undergraduates: Grade 12 university entrance exam certificate and high school transcripts, all authorized
      • Graduates: Degree and student copy, all authorized
    • Preliminary flight ticket booking.
    • Proof of accommodation;
    • Recent bank statement:  covering the minimum last three months and/or personal bank saving book; OR a confirmation of the award of a scholarship.
    • Proof of financial (property) status and personal/family ties in Ethiopia, 
    • Proof of appropriate health insurance.

    Application process:

    • Choose your desired university and course.
    • Submit scanned copies of all required application documents to us.
    • Pay processing/ application fee and sign an Agreement. 
    • Await a conditional acceptance letter from the university.
    • Upon receiving the acceptance letter, you may need to pay an admission fee, part of the tuition fee, or a deposit to the school’s account. 
    • Once the payment is made to the university account, you will receive the official acceptance document necessary for visa application.
    • Prepare all required visa application documents and apply for a visa at the visa center of Austria in Addis Ababa.
    • Fly to Austria to commence your classes.

    Accommodation costs in Austria vary depending on whether you choose on-campus or off-campus housing.

    On-campus dormitories typically offer shared rooms or apartments at rates ranging from €250 to €500 per month.

    Off-campus housing, such as private apartments or shared flats, provides more independence but comes at a higher cost, averaging between €400 to €800 per month.

    When it comes to food expenses, grocery shopping in Austria can cost around €150 to €250 per month, while dining out at mid-range restaurants may range from €10 to €20 per person.

    Transportation costs are manageable with a monthly public transport pass priced between €40 to €70, or renting a bike for €20 to €50 per month.

    NB: If you have a scholarship opportunity, most of your costs will be covered.
